Flush Lever Loose or Doesn't Return After Pressing
The flush lever on an exposed cistern feels loose, wobbles, or stays pressed down after flushing
Identify the model first.
The same symptom can have different causes. Confirm the cistern label, installation generation and applicable manufacturer instructions. Use only safely accessible checks; ask technical support when unsure.
Help identify my cistern →Check 01
Check the Lever Pivot
Remove the cistern lid and inspect the pivot point where the lever arm passes through the cistern. If the pivot nut is loose, tighten it while holding the lever in the correct position. Check the lift wire or chain connection — approximately 10 mm of slack is required.
Check 02
Check Spring Return
If the lever does not return to horizontal after tightening, the return spring has failed. The complete Lever Flush Mechanism (Part AP100 FLV01) must be replaced — a self-contained assembly including lever, pivot housing, and hardware.
Check 03
Replace the Mechanism
Drain the cistern, disconnect the lift wire from the flush valve, remove the old mechanism, and fit the new one. Connect the lift wire, adjust slack, and perform three test flushes to confirm proper activation and spring-back.
These checks provide context for a support enquiry. Confirm any replacement article against the exact model drawing and manufacturer instructions.
