Water Trickling Into Bowl Between Flushes
A constant trickle or stream of water enters the toilet bowl even when not flushed
Identify the model first.
The same symptom can have different causes. Confirm the cistern label, installation generation and applicable manufacturer instructions. Use only safely accessible checks; ask technical support when unsure.

Diagnose: Outlet Valve or Fill Valve?
A silent trickle into the bowl is almost always the outlet valve (flush valve). To confirm: add 5–10 drops of food colouring to the cistern water and wait 10 minutes without flushing. If coloured water appears in the bowl, the outlet valve gasket is leaking. If the water level in the cistern is rising above the overflow tube, the fill valve is the problem instead. The Schwab documents list this as a toilet pan test: fill the cistern to max, close the angle stop valve, then flush by removing the outlet valve. If water still leaks from the bowl, the reason is the toilet pan, not the cistern.
Check 02
Clean or Replace the Outlet Valve Gasket
Per the official Schwab documentation for all three models (187, 198, 199), the outlet valve gasket is the primary cause. The gasket may not be clean, or it may be damaged. Solution: Turn off the water supply, flush to drain, remove the outlet valve by rotating anti-clockwise and lifting clear. Clean the gasket and the valve seat surface thoroughly. If the gasket is worn, hardened, or nicked, replace it with Part 238 693. Also check the valve seat — if the sealing edge on the valve seat is damaged (documented for model 199), it must be replaced with a new valve seat. If the valve seat is not in the correct position, make sure it is pushed to the cistern tank bottom end.
Check 03
Check for Foreign Objects and Particles
All three model documents identify foreign objects and hard particles as causes. On model 199, "foreign object lying on the ground" prevents the valve from seating. On model 187, "bigger hard particle jammed between the wall and the float" blocks valve function. Clean the entire cistern tank. Remove any debris, scale, or particles from the valve seat area and from around the outlet valve float mechanism.
Check 04
Replace the Complete Outlet Valve If Needed
If cleaning the gasket and valve seat does not stop the leak, the complete outlet valve assembly (Part 239 070) provides a fresh gasket, valve body, and seating surface. On model 187, note the position of the lifting eye when removing the old valve, and lock the new valve by rotating clockwise. On model 198, make correct attachment of the bridge. Both parts are available from FLUIDZON in Dubai.
These checks provide context for a support enquiry. Confirm any replacement article against the exact model drawing and manufacturer instructions.
